17 — ADMIN & BILLING
Your own API keys
By default NORD uses its own, managed keys. There is nothing to set up for that, and for nearly everyone it is the simplest route.
If you have your own account with a provider and want to use it, you can — but it is not open straight away.
Request access first
- Go to Settings and then the
Eigen API-sleutelstab. - If there is no form yet, you see an explanation with the button
Toegang aanvragen. - Press it. Your request comes in and you are notified once it is enabled.
- Only then does the form for adding a key appear.
Adding a key
- Under
Nieuwe API-sleutelfill in aNaamyou will recognise it by. - Choose the
Provider:OpenAI,Anthropic,Stripe,Gmail / Google,Notion,ResendorAnders. - Paste the key into
Sleutelwaardeand save. - The key appears under
Opgeslagen sleutels.
What you can still see afterwards
The key is stored encrypted. After that you only ever see the last four characters — we cannot retrieve it to show you either. You can always delete it; you cannot look at it again.
If a key is rejected
NORD says so in the conversation, rather than quietly switching to something else. So you always know whose account a turn ran on.
Note
For most people, balance is simpler and easier to keep an eye on. Only request this if you already have your own account and know why you want it.
