Your own API keys

If you have your own account with a model provider, you can put that key here. NORD then uses your key and you pay that provider directly instead of through your balance.

Only use this if you already have your own account and know why you want it. For most people, balance is simpler.

Adding a key

1. Go to Settings and then the Eigen API-sleutels tab.
2. Pick the provider and paste your key.
3. The key is stored encrypted. After that you only ever see the last four characters — we cannot retrieve it to show you either.
4. Delete it here when you no longer want to use it.

Note

With your own key, usage runs outside your NORD balance, so your NORD spending limit does not cap those costs. You manage that ceiling at your provider instead. If your key is rejected, NORD says so in the conversation rather than quietly switching to something else.
