MCP servers and the marketplace

A connection attaches one service. An MCP server attaches a whole toolbox: it is an open standard by which an outside party offers a set of tools NORD can use.

Use this when you want more than what Connections lists, or when you run something yourself that NORD should be able to call.

Picking from the marketplace

1. Go to Settings and then the MCP-servers tab.
2. Open MCP-marktplaats. It lists servers, with a filter by category.
3. Pick one and add it. From then on that server's tools are in play.

Adding your own server

1. Under Nieuwe MCP-server fill in a Naam you will recognise it by.
2. Fill in the server's endpoint, and an access token if the server asks for one.
3. Save. The server appears under Verbonden MCP-servers.

When new tools join in

Your servers' tools are discovered at the start of every turn. If a server adds one, it is usable on your next message; you do not have to refresh anything or sign in again.

If a server does not answer

It is skipped and your turn continues, with a note saying which server was skipped. If that keeps happening, remove it here — a server that never answers costs a little time every turn and returns nothing for it.

Note

MCP servers are per user, just like connections. And they are not knowledge: a server gives NORD tools, not information about your business. That belongs under Company knowledge.
