Connections & MCP
Topics
Connections are the services NORD is allowed to reach on your behalf. MCP servers are the broader version of the same idea: a standard for attaching outside toolboxes to the agent.
Use this when NORD needs to do something in a system you already use.
Connecting a service
- Go to Settings and then the
Verbindingentab. - Pick the service and sign in to that service itself. You are not pasting keys around.
- After signing in you come back and the connection shows as active.
- To remove it, disconnect here; the access grant is deleted.
Adding an MCP server
- Go to the
MCP-serverstab. - Pick one from the marketplace, or add your own endpoint.
- That server's tools are discovered at the start of every turn, so a new tool is usable immediately.
Note
If a connected server does not answer it is skipped and your turn continues — with a note saying which one was skipped. That is deliberate: one slow connection must not hold up your whole conversation. Connections are per user; you are connecting your account, not your colleague's.
