Choosing Auto or Deep

NORD runs on Claude. Which model exactly is used is usually not your decision to make — that is what the Auto setting does.

Use this if answers feel too shallow, or conversely if you want to watch costs.

The picker

Behind Kies een model the models are grouped by weight: Auto, Basis and Geavanceerd. Each model shows its cost per million tokens, in euro and margin included — so you see the amount that actually comes off your balance, not a list price you have to convert yourself.

The two router settings

The two settings at the top do not pick a price; they pick a model per turn and bill that model.

  1. AutoKiest per bericht het voordeligste model dat de taak aankan. This is the default and the right answer for the large majority of questions.
  2. DeepAltijd het sterke model · hogere redeneerdiepte. Use it where reasoning matters more than speed: an analysis, a difficult trade-off, a long document.

Which model was actually chosen is stated in the conversation. The choice is never hidden from you.

Pinning one model

If you pick a concrete model from Basis or Geavanceerd, NORD stays on it for this conversation. That is useful when you want to compare two answers, or when you know exactly which model you want.

What happens during an outage

If the chosen model is briefly unavailable, NORD falls back to another one, says so visibly in the conversation, and bills against the model actually used. So you never pay the rate of a model that did not run.

Note

Switching model mid-conversation changes nothing about what has already been said. The new setting applies from your next message.
